Like most of the world, I am deeply saddened…and utterly disgusted…by the massacre that occurred in Paris, France on November 13, 2015. One hundred twenty nine innocent, unarmed people, murdered yet again by cowards.
It shouldn’t come as any surprise to those that know better that ISIS is responsible for these murders. Once again, Islamic fundamentalism is responsible for innocent people losing their lives. It is time to draw the line.
It is time to put aside our political correctness. There is no place for Islam in today’s developed world. All developed nations must unite against the Islamic/Muslim scourge that threatens to upend this world as we know it. While many label ISIS as “Islamic extremism”…I believe ISIS is the face of Islam itself.
One hundred twenty nine innocent people were murdered at the hands of “a peaceful religion”. It is time for those that practice Islam to pay for their injustices.
A World Remembers You
The Charlie Hebdo massacre, as well as the ISIS emergence, are the most recent examples of a long list of religious atrocities that have occurred throughout history. Sadly, in the course of human existence, a lot of people have been slain and murdered in the name of someone else’s god. You would think as “evolved” as we have become, religion in any and all forms would be less influential in today’s world. Yet, this certainly is not the case. In today’s modern world, religion continues to influence many people’s day to day decisions. This begs the question…is religion a positive force in today’s modern world?
The first inclination is to say yes. Religion, regardless of affiliation, does a lot of good things. It provides a foundation and guidance by which to live. It provides sense of community…coming together with our fellow woman and man. Religious affiliates often help those that are less fortunate. In this respect, religion provides refuge to those that either have nowhere else to turn or feel no one cares about their best interests.
However, I believe religion is a bane against today’s modern word. While religion provides a foundation and guidance by which to live, it only supports and benefits those that think the same. The reality is if you don’t think, believe, and behave the same as expected, you are damned to Hell or deemed an Infidel. Religion does a great job of bringing like minds together. It fails at including those that think and behave differently. It gives believers an excuse to dominate and murder…even though we are all “God’s children”.
In addition to religion doing a great job of bringing like-minded people together, it also creates a lot of hypocrisy. While some do well for others because they want to, many do well for others in the name of religion to make themselves feel good about themselves. They do well in the name of religion to better their chances of achieving an afterlife they believe they deserve. These people that use religion to do “well” selfishly are nothing more than hypocrites.
The reality is if we wish to evolve further as human beings we must forgo our religious pretenses. Religion IS NOT a positive force in today’s modern world because it holds us back. Religion discriminates against those that are different. In addition it enables those to take action against those that are different. Religion also breeds hypocrisy…doing well in the name of self-advancement. If there is a “God”, I’m pretty sure this is not what it had in mind for us.
We Must Overcome
